Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE) 2.0 — Grade III and Grade IV syllabus, question pattern, marks, duration and negative marking.
The examination pattern below is based on the State Level Recruitment Commission notices issued for Class III and Class IV posts under ADRE 2.0.
The number of questions shown for individual subjects is approximate. The total number of questions remains fixed as prescribed for each examination category.

Separate written examinations are prescribed for the Read up to Class VIII category and the HSLC or equivalent category.
Grade IV Written Examination
The written examination is divided into two categories: posts requiring study up to Class VIII, and posts requiring HSLC or equivalent qualification. The syllabus level corresponds to the respective qualification category.

ADRE 2.0 Examination Rules
Important instructions applicable to the written examinations.
The question papers consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with only one correct answer for each question.
The subject-wise number of questions is indicative and approximate. The total number of questions remains 150 for the Grade III written examinations.
Negative marking is applicable. For Grade III, the negative marking for an incorrect answer is one-fourth of the marks allotted to that question.
Selecting more than one option for a question is treated as an incorrect answer and attracts negative marking.
Grade III question papers are available in Assamese, Bengali, English, Bodo and Hindi.
For Grade IV, each question carries one mark, with 135 questions to be attempted in 2 hours 30 minutes.
Grade IV carries negative marking of 0.25 mark for each incorrect answer.
Grade IV question papers are available in Assamese, Bengali, English, Boro and Hindi.
